Since updating to the latest FireFox, 3.6.12, it seems to hang a lot while surfing.

I just updated today, and it seems like every website I visit causes FireFox to hang. Windows Vista reports that FireFox has stopped responding. I get no Crash ID info. Nice Update!!!

That did the trick. Was surprised to find that after uninstalling/installing firefox that all of my add-ins were still in place.I thought I would have to download them again. Thanks.

I'm having the same issue on my XPpro machine. I've done the uninstall/install/redownload from IE/install earlier version and upgrade/etc/etc/etc/etc....... NO JOY! I still get random (not responding) that goes so far occasionally as to drag the pc processor to a standstill as well. I've disabled all add-ons as well.

Will somebody PLEASE tell me how to make it work!!! This has been going on for about a month.

Did you check your security software (firewall)?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.

Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

Mine does the same. Seems to say flash is out of date. However, since I just updated flash and all my other plugins, well I know what it's not. It just seems to crash, but only since this new version of Firefox. So, it's not my ability to update things that's in question. Tried re-installing the browser and flash. Nothing helps, please help with a solution.

I have this with 3.6.12 under mac os x 10.6.5, even under safe mode with all add-ins disabled and nothing else using the web. It is getting annoying.

All I did was the uninstall, download the latest FireFox using IE and reinstall. That solved it. No problems since. The problem was with the way the new FireFox handles flash. That's why you have to uninstall it first. Something with updating while FireFox in installed.

I've stopped the problem. I did do the uninstalls and reinstalls, but that didn't seem to fix it. Finally, I disabled all add-ons, ESPECIALLY XMARKS THAT I SUSPECT. I don't know which one was causing the problem; although I suspect Xmarks. I am going to leave them all disabled until I need individual ones. Too many accreted to Firefox.

I foud my problem and where it came from !!! My firefox either kept hanging or just crashing down when to the beta 4 and kept having the same problem ! what i did disable every plug in then it kept so after looking on the net for some solution and couldn't find one imess with it till i found the solution what i did is look when it crashed the last time after hanging up for a while well was a little in the detail it show 3.6.15 incompatible look in the plug in and the add on for it and dind'nt find it there so i took a look in the theme and there it was 3.6.15 it was the default theme for firefox that is incompatible with firefox itself so i just change the theme and reactivated my plug in and add on and since no hang up or crashes !! this is my solution for my pc !! but doesn't mean it will work with your !!! try and errors and you will find your solution But it's a start try it and see if it changes anything in your firefox browser's !!
