Firefox will not open. I get an instant crash report. Even in Safe mode. I have completely uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled it. I have run the check to be sure all add ons are up to date. I have done the check for the backdoor virus. I am on Windows Vista 64 bit. It has worked on this laptop for over year, right up to the minute it didn't. I had not installed anything new.

Please help! I hate explorer and want my Mozilla back!

According to the bug report associated with that crash this appears to be due to a missing font, Microsoft sans-serif. This font is part of the system fonts, try running system file checker, it should pick up if the font is missing or corrupt and re-install it. See System Files - SFC Command - Vista Forums

That worked! Thanks so much!

Installing MS Sans Serif font has fixed this problem for me. Yippee. Thank you. (I regularly submitted crash reports over the past year about this problem, but never received any email from Mozilla telling me this simple solution -- shame).
