PDFs not opening automatically in Preview

I have tried to set up PDFs to open automatically in Preview but each time I get a prompt: Do this automatically with files like this (ticked) Settings can be changed using the Applications tab in Firefox Preferences

Go to Preferences/Applications: Preview.app document (application/pdf) Select: Use Preview

Each time I get the prompt!

How can I apply the selected settings?
