In new tabs, there is a "Google" search bar popping up now. How do I delete it?

It just started appearing a little while ago. My anti-virus software hasn't picked up anything unusual so I don't think it's spyware or anything like that. However I can't find a way to get rid of it. I've tried searching for help on Google itself (not using this toolbar), but no luck.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

Do a malware check with a few malware scan programs.
You need to use all programs because each detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database.
