How can I set it so the message opens in a new tab?

Clicking a hot link in a Mac Mail message (OS Snow Leopard) overwrites the last open tab in Firefox. How can I set it so the message opens in a new tab?

Go to Tools > Options and got to Tab (Or something like that, I do not use Mac). Then uncheck 'When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately'.
