Yahoo and Google pages display in Firefox are woefully light and I can't find a way to change the fonts or make them bold. This does NOT happen in I.E. where the displays are perfectly readable.

Control + or - does not improve the display.

Since all other programs have a proper display on this computer, do you have a patch or another helpful method of resolving this?

I am using XP: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.3) Gecko/20100401 Firefox/3.6.3 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)

This happened

Every time Firefox opened

== Always since installing 3.6

Which fonts are you using? Check Tools->Options->Content->(Fonts & Colors->Advanced, and let me know everything that's set there.

Also, let me know which fonts look wrong at http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/fonts

Thank you for springing to my side.

Attached is a screen shot of the window you requested.

FYI, I tried to change the font in that window, but my only choices are Serif vs Sans-Serif under Proportional.

Under Sans-Serif, I switched four or five different choices to Futura Heavy knowing how dark it is from other work...but that doesn't seem to help.

So...I'm perplexed.

Appreciate your help.

Try changing sans-serif to Arial, and also attach a picture of http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/fonts

Tried that previously. No help.

Tried it again now. No help.

So...attached is the first screenshot of the font display list.

And here's the bottom of the display list you requested.

I sure hope that helps you in your analysis.

Thanks again.

Same problem. The fonts appear blurry or fuzzy and not strong and bold..no matter what site I go to. It isn't like they are totally out of focus, but to light and without definition.

I have changed the font information like the original writer, no change. My displayed words resemble the different groups shown in the screen shot above. I don't know how to make a screen shot, but the ones above show the same problem.

I have XP also and 3.6.3 Firefox.

Now my information is...and it has changed to try to find a solution, the following: (Now I don't know what the defaults were, but they were bad also.)

Fonts for Western Proportional Sans Serif Size 16 Serif Arial Sans serif Arial Monospace Courier New size 13 Min font size none

Default Character Encoding Unicode (UTF-8) was Western I think.

Why can't it be made that we can choose to permanently change the font to one of our own choosing? Particularly the aspect of size and style- BOLD.

It is an absolute joke that software designers haven't realized that this is a huge problem.
