On Firefox I'm having trouble with scrolling down everything on Facebook and Ancestry to see and put in info

jrb398

I'm having trouble seeing all I need to see on Facebook and Ancestry.com whenever I get certain popup windows asking for input on my part. On Facebook this happens when I want to create an album of photos, and I cannot add all the ones I want before posting, and on Ancestry when I have to look at and accept certain results for my tree. This problem does not occur with Chrome, for example, which lets me scroll to the bottom with the popups on the right, but I cannot do it with Firefox, which is my default browser, the one I want to use on these two applications. There should be another scroll bar in Firefox to the right in each case, but it's not there, though it is present in Chrome, allowing me to scroll all the way down. Can this be fixed on Firefox, or do I have to use another browser for these aspects of these two applications?

Could it be you don't see the scroll bar in Fx as it is thin when not hovered over.

How do you scroll? Have you tried the arrow keys for example?

Your suggestion did not unfortunately solve the problem. What happens is that with Firefox I only get one scroll bar, when I should be getting two of them, one next to the other. That is what happens with Chrome. When I open these popups, e.g. in Ancestry.com, in Firefox the only scroll bar that appears is the original one that moves items up and down on the left of the screen, and that has no effect on the new information that appears on the right that I have to evaluate. I can only see part of what's there on top, not the bottom part. I have the same basic problem with Facebook: When I add a certain number of photos to an "Album" while using Firefox I can only go so far because I don't get a scroll bar that permits me to add all of them.

I guess the basic problem is that with Firefox in some cases I don't get a needed scroll bar.

Was that a recent change, say, in a last month or two?

I'm not totally sure, but it has been several months at least. I'm certain it was not a problem before I got Windows 11 installed on my computer, which was in mid-February, 2026. I first noticed the problem with Facebook when I was putting together an album with a lot of photos (more than 20). I'm not totally sure when that was, but it may have been as late as June, when I created a fairly large album. I did not have this problem with Windows 10. Could the change to Windows 11 be a factor?
