Interminted problem with Thunderbird

Hello, from time to time my Thunderbird on my desktop PC running windows 10 doesn't receive emails, while they arrived on my I Phone 8. Checked my Telstra web mail, all emails are there so what is stopping getting to my desktop PC? I thought the Thunderbird receives emails than synchronize with my I Phone? As you can see from my 2 images the Telstra is up to today as is my I phone But Thunderbird is 3 days beyond. Tomorrow it may back to normal or the next day? I am returning to this message the next day 16/06/2026 1 more message on my I Phone, still nothing on my Thunderbird.

An other problem I get with Thunderbird is that a message appears on the right bottom of my screen: "Mozilla Thunderbird Connection to server mail.bigpond.com timed out" and/or "failed to connect to mail server imap.telstra.com" If I try to send an email after the above notifications, I get the "Connection Refused". I know than to just walk away. I am using Starlink as Telstra here doesn't work as I am on the fringes of Melbourne in a BLACK HOLE. Any help will be gratefully received. Thank you for reading this. Unfortunately, the sync issues are most likely caused by a poor internet connection and not Thunderbird itself. You can try tethering ("Personal Hotspot") from your phone and see if that improves the connection.

I would also double check that your email settings are correct for Telstra/BigPond. Telstra has a support article that you can find here.

And lastly, your final screenshot was due to the recipient's email provider blocking BigPond. You can try emailing postmaster@bigpond.com to let them know, however they may not respond.

After I sent you the above email, in checking TB version I found a new version which I installed than I restarted my PC and Presto a page full of the missing emails turned up. Next day your email was the only one, still only on my I Phone. Restarted my PC and there it is too. I did confirm my Telstra setting being correct. It is have being happening for a long time, mostly it fixes it self in due course. As I Starlink, I have to have airoplane mode on on my mobile phone so I have too on my PC.

On the next issue, I would ignore the last image, I think it is some garbage the comes out ONLY when I try to send a message after (as shown on one of the previous images) IMAP failed to connect or similar. That I think is Telstra's problem, but I bear the consequence. If you got any answers please let me know, I appreciated your imput. Regards Ilio Pieroni
