Thunder bird version 140.10.Oesr on iMac desktop. Just stopped DL mail. Asked me to sign in; shows my user name. When I click NEXT it goes to a blank page and say "too many trys" Next dy; say on first attmpt.

welcome to Yahoo. When thet get their act together and fix whatever they have broken your mail will work again. They did it a month or so ago then backed out the change that caused it. Perhaps ask them what is happening with their service.
