My email provider has to take my account offline for an hour - if I've downloaded messages to Thunderbird, will they still be available?

I've run into a snafu where my email provider (optimum) has to take my account off line for about an hour. There is a chance that I will lose email that is stored on Optimum. If I have downloaded to Thunderbird prior to taking the account off line, will I still have the emails I've downloaded.

The answer is "Yes" unless they do something drastically wrong. If you want to be extra careful, copy all messages to Local Folders, and backup your Profile for good measure. After the account is back on line and you're satisfied that everything is intact, you can delete the Local copies.

It's a good idea to make regular backups of your Thunderbird Profile,

Thank you - I wasn't sure!!
