I can no longer download my email from centurylink.net to Thunderbird.

When I open Thunderbird, I get a pop-up that says "Login to server pop.centurylink.net with username(my email address)@centurylink.net failed" It asks me to enter my password. I enter my password, and I get the same message again. I can access my Centurylink email through webmail, using the same password that Thunderbird refuses to acknowledge, so I am using the correct password. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it, even if they haven't had this problem?

By the way, Thunderbird updated when I opened it a few minutes ago. The problem was already happening before the update and continues to happen since the update, so the version of Thunderbird I'm using doesn't seem to be the problem.

You should first confirm that you have the proper email settings for Centurylink. I found these in a Goggle search, but I can't vouch that they are correct. If they aren't you will need to contact Centurylink.

You can delete the saved password in Thunderbird, after which you will be prompted to enter them next time you try to connect, and you will have the opportunity to Save those passwords in the Saved Passwords database. See (in Windows) <Tools | Settings | General | Passwords | Saved Passwords>.

By the way, I would recommend that you disable auto-updates for Thunderbird and change it to "Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them" in order to avoid unwanted surprises.
