I am just a user, te same as you. And I share your feelings, but thunderbird is supported by only 3% of the many thousands of users and your copy is unaware of your generous support, for which we are very appreciative. My suggestion is to click to settings>general and untick the start page. I think that will lessen your seeing the donation prompt as often. Thanks for supporting Thunderbird
