The user agent used to post to the forum indicates 

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/141.0.0.0 Safari/537.36

Updating on Linux is managed by the distribution, unless you installed a download from Thunderbird.net. I suggest you ask your distribution maintainers how software updates work on your distribution. I think Mint uses the canonical repository, but I don't use Linux any longer so no longer follow the updates as to who does what for a distribution.
