When I'm composing an email and I insert a link, how do I check the link to see if it's going to the right URL before sending the email?

When I'm composing an email and I insert a link, how do I check the link to see if it's going to the right URL before sending the email?

Chosen solution

Links are unclickable when composing, by design, so that URLs can be edited (clicked on) with the mouse. Select the URL, copy (Ctrl+C), then paste (Ctrl+V) in the browser URL box.

I'm talking about the kind of link you create with ctrl-k. Once how do you show the URL or whatever once you've made the link?
