Add Blocking

Some sites I use will not let me use them unless I stop using add blocking. I have not installed an add blocker so I am thinking it must be one in Firefox. Assuming this is true, how can I discontinue the add blocker at a specific site so I can access/read/use its contents. Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide. Ken

I wish I could answer that directly, but to be honest, I have just left the site when a big sign came across the screen saying something like to "to keep using this site, please disable your add blocker and I haven't kept a list. The one that comes to mind that happened today but has not happened before is https://www.wunderground.com/hourly/us/ak/ketchikan/PAKT. Just went there and got the " We get it. Truth is, ads keep all this personalized weather data free. Please, consider disabling your ad blocker in support of Weather Underground." When I click "turn off adblocker" I get a list of adblockers and as far as I know, none are installed on my machine, unless it is in Firefox. If I use windows edge, I and go to the same sites I get the site with the ad's and of coarse I can use the site. Very much like Firefox and only use Edge when other stuff doesn't work. Thanks for taking the time to answer. Ken PS, late responding as I simply hit Reply and of coarse it bounced back to my spam box and I just noticed it a few minutes ago. Again thanks for the response.

I'm on the site and not seeing any messages about my adblockers Ghostery and ABP. see screenshot This is why a screenshot of the issue so we can see what add-ons you are using would be helpful. What OS? What version of Firefox?

Hello, thanks for the reply. I am using Microsoft windows 10 which is still automatically updated until later this year. I let Firefox update to whatever the latest update is so I should be current with the latest version or update. Attached is a pdf screenshot of my attempt to go to "https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-news/angler-catches-153-pound-alligator-gar-in-texas-with-ultra-light-tackle-likely-setting-a-new-world-record-180986444/?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us" to read an article on the Smithsonian web site

Well, I guess I don't know how to send you a screen shot. I captured the web page and tried to upload the image and just got an error message when I tried to add it with the add images link. Also made a PDF of the page with Faststone Capture and could not upload that, just received an error message. I guess you will have to instruct me how to send you a screenshot. Sorry to be such a novice, thanks for your patience. Ken

Just use the snipping tool in windows. Click on the start button and type snip.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Sorry to be so long responding but have been busy with some other stuff. Thanks for the tip about the snip tool. Am working on learning to use it. Below is an uploaded image showing the Smithsonian site with the add block notice. Hope this helps show the problem. If needed I will watch of this to happen on other sites and send them as an example. Thanks Ken
