Email attachments disappearing

When I select an email which has an attachment (paperclip icon present) then the paperclip disappears and the email is presented without the facility to open the attachment.

This happens only on one folder that I have detected. It doesn't matter whether I select the email from the folder or by using the `search` facility and opening it from there.

If I use Properties>Repair folder, the paperclip re-appears (unless the email is still selected!) but then disappears again when that email is re-selected.

I have tried Properties>Repair and also deleting global-messages-db.sqlite. Also re-installed TB to ver. 137.0.1.

Running WIndows 11 64-bit.

What is more important is does the email actually have an attachment? I have seen all sorts of erroneous paperclips in the user interface over the years. Usually related to encrypted mail, signature ans in some cases calendars entries.

You are asking for someone to guess. We have no access to either your machine or your emails. So really with the dearth of information supplied in your initial post not much extra can be said.

It seems obvious that the method used by "Repair Folder" to detect attachments is different from that used by the message-display routine. They can't both be correct.

The attachments in question were invoices. I found by simply moving them to a folder that contained similar invoices, the attachments became readable.

It seems that a solution to this problem must await someone else's guessing the correct information to provide, given the dearth of guidance on what that extra data may be.
