Firefox for iOS/iPadOS is basically a wrapper for webkit and not using Gecko engine like Firefox for Android and desktop versions does. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/add-ons-firefox-ios

Maybe in the EU that may be possible due to recent changes in allowing to use browser engines that is not webkit.
