All my saved bookmarks are gone
I received a notice to refresh my Mozilla Firefox. I did but then all my Bookmarks disappeared. How can this be recovered? My email address is yamadasy@msn.com. Also do you have a 800 customer service number I can call to have someone take me through this to fix this problem

Step 1: Check for Bookmarks Backup
Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks. You can restore them using the following steps:
Open Firefox. Click on the menu button (three horizontal lines) in the top right corner. Select Library (or Bookmarks). Click on Show All Bookmarks (or Manage Bookmarks). In the Library window, click on the Import and Backup button at the top. Select Restore from the dropdown menu. You will see a list of backup dates. Choose a date before you refreshed Firefox to restore your bookmarks.
Step 2: Check the Bookmarks Menu
Sometimes, bookmarks may not appear in the usual places after a refresh. Check the Bookmarks Menu and Other Bookmarks folder to see if they are there. Step 3: Check for Other Profiles
If you have multiple profiles in Firefox, your bookmarks might be in a different profile. You can check this by typing about:profiles in the address bar and seeing if there are other profiles listed. Step 4: Manual Recovery from Backup Files
If the above steps do not work, you can manually recover bookmarks from the backup files:
Navigate to the Firefox profile folder:
Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
Type %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ and press Enter.
Open the folder corresponding to your profile (it will have a name like xxxxxxxx.default-release).
Look for a folder named bookmarkbackups. Inside, you will find JSON files with your bookmarks.
You can restore these by going back to the Import and Backup section in the Library window and selecting Import Bookmarks from HTML if you have an HTML backup, or using the Restore option for JSON files.
Step 5: Contact Mozilla Support
Unfortunately, Mozilla does not have a dedicated 800 customer service number. However, you can get help through their support website:
Visit Mozilla Support.
You can search for your issue or ask a question in the community forums.

Hi, what kind of system is it - Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android? I'm going to assume Windows, Mac or Linux.
(1) Go to:
- menu button > Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
- (menu bar) Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks
to open the Library window. Check each category in the left column. Are the lists on the right blank, or just the default bookmarks that come with new installations of Firefox, or some or all of your bookmarks?
(2) If you can't see any bookmarks:
Start with a normal shutdown and/or restart of your system. Restarting can help by freeing up locked files, completing any deferred updates, and resolving temporary file permission issues.
Next, if Firefox still has bookmark problems, could you let us know what you get when you run the "Verify Integrity" diagnosis and repair function. That's here:
Open Firefox's Troubleshooting Information page using any of these methods:
- "3-bar" menu button > Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- (menu bar) Help > More Troubleshooting Information
- type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
Near the bottom, there is a section titled Places Database -- that's the file which stores history and bookmarks. Click the button labeled Verify Integrity. There may be a 10-15 second delay before results appear.
If all is well, the report that appears below the button should start with:
> Task: checkIntegrity + The places.sqlite database is sane + The favicons.sqlite database is sane > Task: invalidateCaches + The caches have been invalidated > Task: checkCoherence + The database is coherent
Does yours say that, or something else? You can select and copy the report, and then paste it into a reply for review and comment.
