Thanks for your response, but I had to uninstall Firefox from my phone in order to send email uninterrupted.

Hi Maxine, thank you for the update. I wonder whether the problem was that Firefox was enabled as a global password manager? If you reinstall Firefox later, that setting might be gone, but you could also check the following article to make sure Firefox isn't set to "Autofill other apps":

Turn on/off saved logins, login sync and login autofill in Firefox for Android

Still not working with Firefox uninstalled and chrome as default. Clearly, Firefox wasn't the problem, but it was irritating and time wasting, so gone. Still my favourite on my laptop, though.

How do you work with your Shaw email? Is it in Thunderbird, or another app?

Can you explain what it means to "Autofill other apps"? Why is Firefox's default to turn that off, and what happens when you turn that on? Thank you

I do not use this feature on the daily, just tried it once. Generally speaking, it makes your logins saved in Firefox available to fill in other applications on your device, similar to a password manager app.
