Did you even try setting up an account before you asked this question. I did so I could find the answer.

So data is encrypted in transit if you xhoose that and the server you connect to supports it.

With the mention of OTR, I'm guessing they're talking about end-to-end (as in OMEMO), not just the connection. The most I've seen of that so far has been a 2-year-old suggestion on Mozilla Connect. Oh, and there's a 10-year-old Bugzilla issue linked from that suggestion.
