Is it possible to store emails in both IMAP and local folders?

more options

I have all of my emails in IMAP folders. When I travel I don't always have internet access. It would be helpful to have access to work-related emails at those times. Two questions:

(1) Is it possible to store emails in both IMAP and local folders so I can access them offline?

(2) Is there some setting that can automatically store all emails in IMAP and local folders?

Thanks for your help!

Messages in local folders is not affected by travel.

Messages in folders of imap accounts can be used offline/when traveling by setting offline via alt-key > File > Offline > Work Offline

Wayne Mery, when I say "when traveling" I mean "when I don't have internet access" as described in my original post. Messages in IMAP accounts require internet access. Can you please answer my two specific questions if you know the answer? Thank you.

David, what does that do, exactly?

it downloads all message content for offline access, which is what you wanted,

That is what this does. Normally, the file>offline command isn't needed, but I mention it as a possibility.

Instead of having to remember a step before you travel, you could enable "Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer" in account settings > synchronization & storage and check behind the "advanced" button to ensure that all folders are selected. You can also access this page through "File" (menu) > "Offline" > "Offline Settings".

There is also an option in the properties for each folder to select it for off-line use. I assume that this function is redundant with the one I described above.
