Firefox is a web browser, software that helps you access content on the web.

Google is a search engine. You use a search engine in a web browser to search for content on the web.

Firefox is a web browser as the company Mozilla does not have a search engine service of their own. A search engine is for example google.com, duckduckgo.com, bing.com etc.
