When others send email to me, it takes 5-10 or more minutes to show up in my thunderbird inbox. I there a way to pull email off the web immediately?

There must be a way. Trying to avoid an hour searching non-answers. Would love a clear simple way to flush the queue if there is incoming email waiting on the web.

So you want someone to spend an hour explaining to you how IMAP and POP work.

Fundamentally you will not have a delay with mail in your inbox in IMAP mail accojnts where the server supports push notification via the IDLE IMAP command (that iu google, others may support it. Check with your provider).

Otherwise you are limited to the frequency of mail checking in your account settings.
