How to turn off my location data in Firefox
I have tried to look this up online but nothing I have found has worked even when I put today's date in the query. I have a VPN that alters my "location" which has given me all sorts of search and other issues. I just want to turn off all location data so I can search without being put in "Dallas" or "Houston". Help please.
[IMHO one of the worst things about the Web is when some lazy egomaniacs decided to eliminate all article posting dates. That has led to horrible, but unmarked, out-of-date "help" files of every kind.

What reasons do you have for using this VPN ?
If you use a VPN then you usually get a new IP, issued by this VPN service. This new IP can locate you everywhere on the globe depending on its exit node (a website can do a reverse DNS look), that is how a VPN works and you either accept this or stop using the VPN.
I use the Aura security service since I was hacked last year and a lot of my information is circulating on the dark web. Thank you for the explanation of what a VPN does but that does not solve my issue. I already stated that I use a VPN and what it does to my location data. I asked for a way to turn Firefox location information OFF since it does not show my ACTUAL location and that creates issues with searches. From what I have read there IS a way to do that. It's just that any instructions I have found so far are old and do not work.
