All Tabs duplicate themselves
I know this seems like a dumb question, well he should know what he did to make that happen! The problem is I don't notice it when it occurs, it's after the fact when I look up ans see all those duplicate tabs open or come along and see that they are open after another person was on the computer. I think Alt Home shortcut would dup home tabs, but know not doing that.
All Tabs duplicate themselves sometimes and I don't know why. It must be something I am doing, but haven't figured out what. Also, happens to wife and all she uses is Facebook.
Example I normally have 6 tabs open, something is happening that all of a sudden I have 12 tabs open, they are always a duplicate of the 6 that were already open. Today when she was using FB, there was 18 tabs open, 3 of each.
Does anyone have a clue to what stupid thing we must be doing to make that happen? Is there some special key combination that would make that happen?
I am on FF 116.0.2, but this has been going on for a year or more, so not related to this release. Just something I must be doing or a combination of keys??

There is no keyboard shortcut for duplicating tabs. It may be caused by an extension, does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?
No haven't tried trouble shooting mode as it doesn't happen very frequently enough. I is not a daily thing, might even be months before it happens again. Just thought maybe there was something weird that I was doing that others had also done to make that happen. I will try to watch more closely and hopefully notice when it happens.
A way to duplicate a tab is holding the Ctrl key while you click the combined Reload/Stop toolbar button. The same with holding the ctrl key and dragging the tab. Since both of these involve the Ctrl key, you might suffer from a stuck Ctrl key.
If it happens again:
It is possible that some status keys have the wrong state and Firefox sees them as still pressed.
Try to press all the status keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) a few times to see if that helps to recover from this. If it doesn't help then close and restart Firefox or reboot the computer.
