"Gah. Your tab just crashed" New computer, Windows 11 [May,21, 2023] (Solved)
I purchases a new computer that had Firefox installed on it already.
After Windows 11 setup...
1st starting Firefox up I got a message saying:
The program can’t start because VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.
After, it would load but, was getting every time I loaded it up or a new page: Gah. Your tab just crashed
I did all the solution I could find for Firefox crashing (plus more google results): https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-crashes-closing-or-quitting
THIS DID NOT WORK!
But then I decided to focus on the VCRUNTIME140.dll is missing issue.
And here is what solved it for me:
- Visit https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads
- Go to the section Visual Studio 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2022, and download the following executable file: vc_redist.x64.exe
- Install this file
- Restart the computer and run Firefox
