I am trying to move messages stored in Evolution to Thunderbird. Your site at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-import#w_how-to-import-settings-and-data-with-the-import-tool says that I can import messages from Outlook (which should be similar to Evolution), but the actual Thunderbird I am using (102.10.0) does not offer that option. There is also a discussion at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/switching-thunderbird# which advises me to "Copy all the file without extension (such as Inbox, Outbox,.." into Thunderbird's directory, but in fact Evolution seems to now store each message as a separate file, and copying all of these to Thunderbird doesn't yield anything Thunderbird can read.
