Firefox isn't generating a secure password

I'm running FF 112.0 on a Mac Mini Ventura 13.2.1 M1 that is synced with a Pixel 6 and the latest Android, using FF for mobile. For the last 6 months or so, neither device is offered a secure password, even after "unlock Firefox" has been done. Search logins? No thank you. Add new login? No that's all manual entry. I don't create new logins very often, but I would like it to work as advertised. Cheers.
