Trying to add the file link server to my Thunderbird. I created the account at The Good Cloud....activated the account OK. Went into the settings in TB and added the link into the box....proceeded to "try" to populate the setting box....first off I couldn't cut/paste...web address, user ID, or passwords from my PW manager.....so added the details manually.....however I was never able to enter the password field successfully.....won't populate/accept. I know it must be something easy....but I can't find an online answer. Maybe you can send me a link....frustrating.

Hello there krellboy. We have read your message. We try to help you.

What kind of pc server do you try to use with this software programs? Can I ask.

Okay, the account of your the good cloud is connecting to your server is this correct? Now that the connection is there do you want to connect to Thunderbird and register it in the Thunderbird software?the link is created and ready for use with email client software. the registration for both to use them isn’t going well as above descripted.

You can send me a message.

I can send you the addon. https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/filelink-provider-for-send/?src=search

You mean that the internal use of your thunderbird software with your link into thunderbird is not going correctly as the short descriptions read in your writing can you better form the explanation ?

From the beginning of the story to the end of it. If that is possible. Pictures are welcome to.

I want to add a file link server to my Thunderbird client. I thought I had a GoodCloud account because their site responds user exists. I don't know how to add the server to my thunderbird so I can send file attachments. How do I find the server url? Thunderbird calls it *cloud.....is this the same as NextCloud?

The whole process is very confusing and not described clearly....pretty much just want to give up using file link.

Hello there again krellboy.

Good cloud is a part of Next cloud ,correct. Is there a good cloud server at the moment with your account on it? Are you shure?

Thunderbird is a client for e-mail servers to be used with it. Thunderbird does not offers a storage possibility. Good cloud is more like a vault storage software.

Hello there

usually it is a batch of data that you want to upload to a storage cloud. selects files you want to use from your PC .

Those files will be uploaded to your existing cloud storage in this case it is The good cloud. Part of Nextcloud.

Get your emails automatically transferred to your online cloud storage.

Right.....I get the process but my hang up is in adding my settings into my local Thunderbird and getting it to accept the settings.....the specific setting my TB won't accept is the "password field".....here's the path....Tools>settings>composition>attachments>providers.....*cloud....populated in the provider box. When you click on it "The Good Cloud" box pops up with the various fields needed to connect to the Good Cloud server....ie server url, user name, app token or password, >advanced options (storage path in cloud).

Sooooo.....my issue is that when I populate the password field or try to.....and then save a big red colored box pops up and says I need to enter my password correctly.....no matter what I do my password is not accepted to be saved

I'm lost.....can't figure out why. I can login to the The Good Cloud server ok so I know my account with them is in good standing.

Could someone test this out....or pass me on to a link or forum or other help source

I'm am constantly asked to place a large attachment as a link....so this idea would be very helpful
