Every time I send an e mail with Thunderbird I get a message that tells me that it was sent but could not be placed in a sent file. On occasion I also get a message that says it wasn't sent but in most cases it was. I was told by GEEK that it had to be fixed by Thunderbird. Thank you for your help.

Is this with a gmail or outlook.com account? Both copy sent messages to the Sent Mail or Sent folder automatically, so 'Place a copy in' must be unchecked in the Copies & Folders section of Account Settings.
