Firefox will not load any websites. I've removed it from Windows Firewall and re-added it at your suggestion (didn't help). I also downloaded the installed and re-installed Firefox manually. I turned off Windows Firewall to try that (nope). I downloaded the latest Visual Basic kit and installed it.

Settings loads fine Add-ons Manager loads fine but not one website will load up - little graphic goes back and forth in the tab ad infinitum.

I depend on Firefox for everything. Fortunately I have all those complex passwords that Firefox made for me backed up - or I'd be TOTALLY SCREWED!!!

This started a week ago after an update - but it was only YouTube that wouldn't load - but all of a sudden (about 72 hours) it started working fine with no help from me. But now it's every site I try.

So I'm using Opera to compose this message to you.

If clearing the cookies and cache didn't help, you should check your computer for malware. Certain types of malware are known to target Firefox and can prevent it from loading various websites: If you have an antivirus or Internet security program, update its detection database and do a full scan of your system.

Thanks willjoe24421 - but the solution was far easier. What solved my issues: Press the <alt> key and click on Help. Then click Troubleshoot Mode and Firefox will restart with add-ons & extensions temporarily disabled.

In Troubleshoot Mode every webpage I tried (from my Bookmarks Toolbar) including YouTube loaded content and displayed perfectly.

That's all I had to do to fix it, once I restarted it afterwards in 'Normal' mode, it worked again just fine. Yay!
