Personal certificate not possible to delete

I have Firefox 108.0.2 installed, had the same problem also in recent versions: I'm trying to delete a personal certificate but when I do it, it pops up immediately. Tried: Deleted in certificate dialog and immediately exited. Closed Firefox, deleted the cert9.db file in my profile folder and restarted Firefox. The file re-appeared and certificates where in again. Driving me mad, I need to remove an expired certificate but FF does not allow it - definitely a bug.
