ALL my settings disappear when fire fox updates!

Every time Firefox updates (way too often) - 'ALL my settings disappear' - even my home pages! I have to spend a half hour minimum getting them all back, figuring out where I was and what I was doing before the windows closed. This has always been the case. I HATE IT - it interferes with my work and overrides my personal choices. Mozilla, aren't you tech-savvy enough to be able to update an app without changing all settings back to default? Shame on you. 

    Can anyone suggest a better browser? I haven't found one yet that doesn't have serious problems.

How do I restore my Firefox settings? Refresh Firefox Click the menu button. Click Refresh Firefox… then Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens. When finished, a window will list your imported information. Select whether you want Firefox to restore all or some windows and tabs and click the Let's go!
