downloaded firefox many times. firefox loads. but does not access internet. does not allow me to view settings. I like firefox very much. please help.

I have downloaded firefox many times. after loading I can not go to a web page. like msn.com, or yahoo. I can go to settings, but settings does not work, nor does anything else on that page like history and etc. I also have kb 4474410.
