Firefox 107.0 will not open zoommtg zoom metting links on kubuntu 22.04 LTS

I use Firefox 107 on MacOs and Kubuntu and have done for 2 years in this config. Opening a zoom meeting was as simple as right click join on google calendars for both platforms. About a month ago (early Oct 2022) this stopped working. Clicking on the open zoom link in the browser does not work either. It works on mac, but not linux!

It will be a really big pain to migrate to Chrome just because of this bug :(
