I used to be able to export my address book easily but a few weeks ago I received the prompt to update Thunderbird, but now when I go to export my address book, it exports my entire Thunderbird profile, which includes accounts, messages and settings in addition to my address book. What used to take a minute or two now takes over an hour. Am I missing something? I don't see any option to export only the address. This is a huge pain and seemingly so unnecessary. It wasn't broken, but Thunderbird fixed it anyway... actually let me rephrase: it wasn't broke so Thunderbird did break it. I thought upgrades are supposed to be an improvement... this feels like 10 steps back. Can someone please help? Thank you in advance.

I figured it out...

It used to be via Tools > Export, but that now exports the entire profile.

I don't know why this didn't occur to me sooner but I tried right-clicking the address book and choosing Export and this did export the address book only.

Still not sure why Thunderbird made this change but am just relieved to be able to now quickly export address books as needed.
