Can I control which email sources are opened in Plain Text or HTML?

Often the formatting is so superior in HTML and if its from a reputable source the risk of using it seems to be worth it. Otherwise I want everything opened in Plain Text. But can I do this automatically? I'd set everything for Plain Text then have a few HTML exceptions for a few contacts.

On your question, the answer is 'no, but you may find the addon, toggleHTML, useful. It sits on your menu bar and by clicking it, you can switch quickly between the plain text and HTML. That's exactly how I do it.

Sounds like a plan. Maybe someone will make an extension/add-on for this. OR is it much safer to use HTML now than it used to be? Sounds like you opt for plain text most of the time. Probably for a reason.

Using plain text lets me guarantee how the message will look. Actually, I have little fear of HTML, as it's rather safe.
