Were you entering a sweepstakes, so the actual contents inside that message are relevant to what you were doing?

Most likely, this is a data response to a script in the page. The script requested an action in the background instead of sending you to a new page, with the intent of adding the information into the current page. However, something went wrong when the response was received, or the request wasn't formulated/coded correctly.

I suggest mentioning it to the site, in case they don't bother testing in Firefox, so they can take a look at what might be going wrong.

By the way, your computer reported itself to this support site as running Windows Vista. I don't think that can be true because the last version of Firefox that could install on Windows Vista was the extended support release of Firefox 52, from back in... 2018?

You might check whether your Firefox is running in backwards compatibility mode. Since that disables some Windows features (hides them from the application), this could cause odd unexpected issues. If you right-click your Firefox shortcut and choose Properties, you can make sure Firefox isn't running in Compatibility mode. I'm not sure which screenshot would be most like your actual system, but here's one from Windows 10:

Can you always replicate this with visiting a specific URL or does this happen randomly ?

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, DuckDuckGo PE, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content.

  • click the shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection

You can check the Web Console for relevant-looking messages about blocked content.

You can try these steps in case of issues with webpages:

You can reload webpage(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.

  • hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
  • press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
  • press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies for websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Settings).

"Remove the Cookies" for websites that cause problems:

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data: "Manage Data"

"Clear the Cache":

  • Settings -> Privacy & Security
    Cookies and Site Data -> Clear Data -> [X] Cached Web Content -> Clear

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or userChrome.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window
