People are having connection issues on firefox https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/x1um0o/browser_problems_after_1040_and_10401/

A fix for this is going to about:config

network.dns.disableIPv6 and set to true

Disabling ipv6 is a fix, but is this safe?

I think mozilla team should look into what exactly is making ipv6 cause connection issues.

WARNING from the moderator team: Changing Firefox pref from the about:config page can sometimes break Firefox or cause strange behavior. You should only do this if you know what you're doing.

This is a known issue for some systems and the Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can Mozilla Support article suggests the about:config solution. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can#w_ipv6

As for Mozilla looking into the issue, I found Bug 300302 network.dns.disableIPv6 should be set to true by default (at least on OS/2). I also found this meta bug that links to other related bug reports: Bug 136898 [meta] IPv6 support (see Bugzilla Etiquette before commenting in bug reports.)
