Thunderbird version would be more useful :)

Please do the following: 1. Settings > General > type "config" into the search 2. open Config Editor 3. Search for "app.update.log" and set it to "true". 4. Restart Thunderbird. 5. Do Help > About 6. Open Tools > Developer Tools > Error Console 7. Type AUS into the filter 8. Please copy/paste everything starting with "AUS:"

Wayne, try this. Go to the Thunderbird website and you will see the DOWNLOAD link right on the front page. That is the version. As of this morning, the update popups may have stopped (just checked one computer), so they may have fixed it. No need to reply, but thanks for reading the initial inquiry.
