Messages with the different subject are grouped in one thread

The subject line for one was " Fw: Important Document(s) from Store's" & "Signing complete: 123 Main ST Residential Lease Contract & Pet Ag". One email came from a store email. The other came from docusign.

The only thing they did have in common was that inside the message from Store it mentions "Main St.", but not the full address.

I tried to move one email to another folder, and both emails get moved. My end result is that I need to put the store email under my "VENDORS File", and the other under "SIGNED CONTRACTS File"

Also, I keep missing emails because it keeps putting them in weird threads like this.

I have set "mail.thread_without_re" to false already. I just need to file emails to correct file.

Please & thank you for your help!

what they most probably have in common is common References: header field.

Why not have a look. Ctrl+U shows message source, have a look in the headers at the to in the References:

Unfortunately there are those that write email by finding the last email from a person, select reply and clear out what the can see and write their "new" email. Nut it is not a new email. as it will have references to the original in the header. There is no substitute for simply clicking on write and addressing the mail from the address book to stop that sort of lunacy. You also see such things in property and contracting where folk along the way heavily modify the mail body for their part of the process.

BTW, the references header gets longer with each reply, forward etc. So I write you, you click forward. That then gets forwarded and then the message comes back to me. The message that comes back will have a quite long references as each step of the way each new message has a new message id and the old id is appended to the references.

I closed the program and did not use it for a whole day. Came back and the ones sent by docusign and store were solved! However, your answer solved other threads! Yes, looks like my boss was doing that. Thank you!
