How do I stop this BS? I have several hundred pages bookmarked, and now after the last time I allowed firefox to update, I am unable to access 90% of them as I get the above message.

I would hope that I don't have to change browsers as all of the others I am aware of suck.

What security software do you have?

It is possible that your firewall or other security software blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox application. Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full, unrestricted, access for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Is your security software covered in the article?

You can check the connection settings.

  • Settings -> General -> Network: Connection -> Settings

If you do not need to use a proxy to connect to internet then try to select "No Proxy" if "Use the system proxy settings" or one of the others do not work properly.
