Import Email from Linux Mint Mate 20.3 to Thunderbird 91.5. I have been working on this problem since Dec 2021. And I want and need to preserve those emails that have a lot of history, personal and financial. You're help is most important. I have been at a number of Web sites that stated they could help but after some time it became apparent it was all out dated. What I am dealing with is now, I need you're help.

Please keep on mind I am not a Linux Professional. Do not confuse me please.

Thunderbird 91.5. Help, More Trouble Shooting Information, Information Profile Directory Open /home/donald/.thunderbird/xqfvqvc.default-release Select Mail Select Profiles Select Mint Thunderbird Select nt3r4mao.degault-202111105-1529 Select Mail Select Local Folders Now you see all the Email I wish to import INTO T-Bird 91.5

Linux Mint Mate 20.3 /home/donald/Documents/Email Backup/Profiles/Mint Thunderbird/nt3r4maO.default-20211105-1529/Mail Local Folders Now you see all those Mail Folders I wish to Import Into Thunderbird 91.5

I have a new download Thunderbird 91.6 but I am concerned that the Emails that I have accumulated in 91.5 would be lost. Don't want that. Thank you so much for you're time and effort to solve this problemthat.

Additional Comment and hopefully use full. I have been with Linux Mint, and Ubunto (I know bad spelling) for some time. And when I did a new install that Email mail was always imported in to the NEW Thunderbird. Before this fiasco I was using Linus Mint Cinnamon 17.3 with Thunderbird 60.6.1. It worked perfectly. AND now you can imagine how I feel. Did I make a mistake?

I would appreciate an Acknowledgment that this has been received Please.

/home/donald/Desktop/home/donald/Email backup/.thunderbird/Profiles/Mint Thunderbird/nt3r4ma0.default-20211105-1529/Mail/Local Folders

This is what is in the Location: Will not Paste to the Desktop but it is held in the Email Back Up. I closed Mint and then Opened It. Expecting to see on the Desk Top the above.

Gone. I tried a an Extra Pane and Copied those files from on side to the other From Back Up to the Desk Top. It was in Back up and Location: Desk Top. I closed Home Down and then restarted it NO Desk Top or the Back Up Contents. So sorry!!

Originally you had this location: /home/donald/Documents/Email Backup/Profiles/Mint Thunderbird/nt3r4maO.default-20211105-1529/Mail Local Folders that was your backup. So you have a backup.

RE: This is what is in the Location: /home/donald/Desktop/home/donald/Email backup/.thunderbird/Profiles/Mint Thunderbird/nt3r4ma0.default-20211105-1529/Mail/Local Folders

Well that is wrong. You are attempting to copy the 'home' folder and put it into the 'Desktop' folder. You should not be copying the 'home' folder. I'm not surprised that does not work.

I have told you to move the 'Profiles' folder out of this location : /home/donald/.thunderbird/xqxfvqzc.default-release/Mail/Profiles/

then you said you had this: .thunderbird/Profiles/Mint Thunderbird/nt3r4maO.default-20211105-1529/

Now I assumed you were talking about your current profile - but obviously you are not looking at your profile - you are probably still looking at the backup

I have asked you repeatedly to stop accessing any of your backups.

It would seem you do not know the difference between your backup and your current thunderbird profile.

This is your current thunderbird profile location: home/donald/.thunderbird/xqxfvqzc.default-release/ It would explain why you have a problem - you keep trying to copy the wrong folders into the wrong locations. It would seem you have no idea how to move a folder.

You need to get someone who understands - perhaps a family member.
