On Linux Ubuntu 18.04, on my laptop, I have 2 versions of Firefox. Version 85.0.2 which I've been using for a while, and version 97.0.1 which I have just installed. I want to sync the new firefox version with all my data and choices that are on the older version of firefox. I think I am being told to sync my older firefox settings with firefox on my phone. I do not have a phone. I only have 1 laptop. I need help, I don't know how to accomplish syncing with 2 different firefoxes on the same laptop.

Chosen solution

Syncing two Firefox instances/ profiles merely means to connect to the same Sync account by using the same email address and password. There is no need in follow the instructions to install Firefox on a mobile device.
