PKCS#11 pop-up asking for password - linked to VPN, security key, something else?

Hi to the Firefox community !

Trying to figure out please why a pop-up keeps asking a PKCS# token ? The exact phrase being "Please enter the password for the PKCS#11 token [xxxxx]"

I am running Firefox 91.6 on RHEL 8.5, the pop-up seems to occur when starting Firefox, or when starting / stopping the VPN connection (nb : the version of Firefox is the one aligned with the RHEL repo). I am also using a security key as 2FA but this pop up doesn't refer to it or accepts the pin.

This seems to be a topic pretty similar to the one described here, but as that link is now archived, I have started this new conversation: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1343696]

Found those links : [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/.../permission-request-messages-firefox-extensions] https://firefox-source-docs.mozilla.org/security/nss/legacy/pkcs11/faq/index.html#mozilla-projects-nss-pkcs11-faq

I am discovering this topic so maybe there is just something simple that I miss, so would anyone have any idea about this behaviour? Or could anyone point at Mozilla documentation about this pop-up and what it actually is?

Many thanks!

Alex
