Dear Sir/ Madame,

I changed my computer and did not remember the password of firefox.

Then I requested a new password.

Afterwards, all of my bookmarks has been deleted.

Could you please help about issue?

Thanks

Hello,

Firefox accounts are encrypted. Firefox can not simply decrypt your data for you. Once you reset your password and do not have the current encryption key, Firefox deletes the data, as you can no longer use it.

I am sorry that you have ran into this, but you must understand that it is a security feature.

In the future, please make and store a recovery key for this case. More information can be found at Reset your Mozilla account password with Recovery Keys

Resetting the sync password, or changing its e-mail will remove all data from the servers. The username and password are used to create the encryption.

This is a security feature. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/ive-lost-my-firefox-sync-account-information

  • I've lost my Firefox Sync account information - What to do
  • I’ve forgotten, or don't have access to, my Firefox Account email address

Note: Only the data on the servers is cleared. The profile data is not changed or removed.
