It seems to me like TB's Compose of email addresses has changed. Many of my contacts have multiple email addresses. So for say Cindy, I may have

  1. CindySheller@yahoo.com
  2. CindyS@gmail.com
  3. CindySheller192@outlook.com

When composing an email for this fictitious "Cindy" if I type "cindy" in the To field I'll see the list above in the order above. Let's say I select the gmail address. Further, let's say over a week or so I write 5 emails to the gmail address and never use any of the other emails. I thought that TB used to arrange the list based on MFU but it doesn't seem to do that anymore.

If it never did then it would be a good enhancement nonetheless as many people have many email addresses but prefer to use a primary one. Using MFU would automatically accomplish that.

It's a nice idea. Since this is a volunteer support forum, I cannot fix that, but you could submit a bug request at https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/home so that the idea reaches developers. Good luck.
