New TH does not recognize my profile
Hello, I just upgraded from TB 68.6.0 to 91.3.2. The new TB does not recognize my profile and asks me to enter all new info. I thought it would work automatically. What can I do. I need HELP !
Thank you.

OK,
I copied my back-up profile and tried with TB68 (said the profile had been changed by a more recent version), the TB 78 (same) and then TB91.3.2 and by following the instructions, I could recover my whole folder and Make it the default ! Hurray! And thank you Toad-Hall .
Can I delete all the other profiles which I do not use (and were probably created in the process)?
But there is a bug with some of the fonts: the font which is used for the Tab names replaces the x by " and does not show y and z. This same problem appears in many places, so Mozilla appears as Moilla , the subject fields are missing y and z and show " instead of x .... !
Interestingly enough, no such bug when using the debug mode (which may use different fonts, definitely bigger fonts ?)
I will put this up as another question.

I should add that the name of my profile was changed with the new TB ....
TRy to reselect the original profile. Menu app icon > Help > More Troubleshooting Information Under Application Basics' near the bottom - 'Profiles ' click on 'about:profiles' it will open in a new tab It will display a list of the profiles. Currently, the new empty profile is set as default.
Below it should be the original profile, which has button below. click on 'Set as default' click on ' Launch Profile' It should open in a new window. then close the original window.
Report back on results.
Thank you for your help.
Yesterday, I upgraded from TB 68.6.0 to TB73.x.x and then to 91.3.2. At each step, the conversion seem to work. this morning, TB 91.3.2 asked me to create a new profile.
I tried to have it recognize my old profile but did not work. Now, there are 3 profiles in my Thunderbird/profiles folder. The User profile seems to have some of my original mailboxes, but they are not big enough to correspond to the boxes I had yesterday. The two other profiles seem to be about the same. Neither of them shows in the profile manager where they should appear.
I have two back-ups of my internal drive which show only a single (and with same name) profile in their respective Thunderbird/profiles folders.
What should I do now ? (I will disconnect one back-up (to keep an untouched copy) . Thanks again,
Alain
My situation is this now: In the profile folder, I have 4 profiles. Two are small and are recognized by the profile manager. Two are very big (one is 53 GB, the other 103 GB. They are not recognized by the profile manager.
My back-up profile (on a back-up external drive) is 53 GB.
What should I do ? Please advise. I would hate to lose 25 years of e-mails ....
Thank you.
I have tried to copy the mail folder from my back-up to the active profile folder in TB 91.3.2.
They do not show at all.
How can I transfer the accounts information?
HELP !!

re: Can I delete all the other profiles which I do not use (and were probably created in the process)? Providing they are not being used eg: the Profile is the default profile or the profile points to the profile in use (Usually used when profile is not stored in default location).
Menu app icon > Help > More Troubleshooting Information Under Application Basics' near the bottom - 'Profiles ' click on 'about:profiles' it will open in a new tab It will display a list of the profiles.
It will state which profile is in use and it cannot be deleted or it will say that profile is used by another application and cannot be deleted ( usually if running more than one version of Thunderbird or profile points to a profile not stored in default location). Other profiles that are ok to delete will have a 'Remove' button below that profile. Use that 'Remove' button to delete them.
