Firefox disappeared from my computer late Sunday night.

I have not been able to reinstall it.

After downloading the installer the process seem to proceed okay at first. But the progress bar stalls at about 95%. Then the installer sends a message that says something like installation failed.

Please help me.

I have been using Firefox for a decade: I have never had this problem.

I am running Windows 10 on a HP Desktop.

What's your computer system?

Let’s do a full clean re-install;

Note: Firefox comes in three or more folders on all computers. They are;

Maintenance: (Programs Folder) <Windows Only> Firefox itself: (Programs Folder) And two folders in the profile of each user on the computer for each Firefox profile for that user.

If you remove the Firefox folder, the user profiles would not be affected.

Firefox ESR; Extended Support Release {web link}

Beta, Developer, Nightly versions

Install Older Version Of Firefox {web link} Be sure to read everything here.

Save the file. Then Close Firefox.

Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.

Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) Note: Check Both Folders

Mac: Open the "Applications" folder.

Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux;

If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Look for, and remove any Mozilla or Firefox program folders. Do not remove the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.

Do Not remove any profile folders.

After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Besides the path I described in my last request I have tried these installer: Firefox Installer.exe Firefox Setup 78.15.0esr.exe Firefox Setup 93.0.msi I could not get above to start at all. With that I tried another run at the download in your promotion. Like before the progress monitor stopped just short of the finish. Please let me know what I am doing wrong in simple terms and / or if I need to take other measures.

Are you seeing any other information or error message? It's possible your anti-virus is causing the problem.

Try to disable your protection programs.
