I'm using the System theme. Starting with Thunderbird 91.2 the Message Window background is suddenly white. It used to be dark. Why did you change the color? Why did you make me do the extra work of setting the color manually all of a sudden? Man, with each update Thunderbird gets more annoying.

The Message Pane for plain text messages can be white text on black, or another choice, by setting the Text and Background colors in Preferences/General/Language & Appearance, Colors.

I know. I've already done that. The question was: Why did they change color? Why did I have to search, find and then change the option manually just to work around the change they made? If I at least knew that, maybe I wouldn't be as annoyed as I am now.

There have been several adjustments made with themes over the last few months, and it seems there's no consistency between different operating systems and system themes. On Windows, there are light and dark Windows and app modes, and Linux has color schemes that affect the TB themes. Why do they make changes? I only have an opinion about that, not evidence.
